UX/UI

I am enthusiastic about UX/UI because it allows me to combine my passion for storytelling and user experience. Understanding users' needs and crafting experiences that resonate with them is incredibly rewarding. My strong background in graphic design enhances my ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly apps and websites. UX/UI design lets me bridge the gap between user insights and impactful digital solutions, making every project a unique opportunity to innovate and delight.

Smart

Learner

This project aimed to understand the challenges students face in finding tutors and build an app optimized to address these issues. We created a fictional company called SmartLearner to guide this process.

TEAM & TIMELINE: Our five-week project involved a team of three classmates, including myself. We collaboratively handled responsibilities from initial research to wireframe testing. I participated in 2 tutor interviews, I collaborated with the ideation. Because of my design background, I designed most of the slide decks including the Case Study. I also created the low fidelity wireframes.

THE PROCESS: The cornerstone of our UX process was understanding user needs. We gathered insights from students and tutors about their real-life and online experiences to tackle a "Wicked Problem."

THE WICKED PROBLEM: "Every student faces unique challenges, such as access to resources and adapting to different learning environments. To support them, we must provide fair opportunities, access to resources, and respect for diverse perspectives."

RESEARCH & ANNALYSIS:  We conducted interviews, surveys, and competitive analysis to gather comprehensive data. Key methods included creating an Affinity Diagram, formulating How Might We statements, and applying the MoSCoW method.

KEY FINDING:  Our research revealed that students value:

  • • Teaching styles
  • • Availability
  • • Learning environments
  • • External educational resources

These insights were crucial in shaping our app design. We also introduced a playful Tyrannosaurus SmartLearner icon, which testers found engaging and enjoyabl

CONCLUSION: The SmartLearner project highlighted the importance of user-centric design and provided valuable lessons on creating effective and engaging educational tools. The User picks the subjects they need help with by having their own profile. Tutors are ranked and the price is clearly visible giving the user much better at-a-glance information when making their tutor selection. The user also can easily pick a time to schedule a tutor even if they are in need of one quickly.

Band-Tastic

Imagine an app that seamlessly integrates everything from your favorite band—music, merch, concert tickets, and real-time updates—all in one place. This was my inaugural UX project, which ignited my passion for user experience design. Music, a lifelong passion of mine, drove my desire to create a more fulfilling and comprehensive music app experience.

RESEARCH INSIGHTS:  In exploring this concept, I interviewed music enthusiasts about their online music buying experiences. The feedback revealed widespread dissatisfaction with current streaming services:

  • • Curated song choices often miss the mark.
  • • Users feel frustrated when they miss out on new vinyl releases.
  • • Many dislike missing tours of their favorite bands due to lack of information.
  • • They are unhappy with uninspiring new music recommendations.

METHODOLOGY:  To tackle these issues, I followed a structured UX process:

  1. 1. Persona Creation: Developed a persona to represent the typical user.
  2. 2. Data Synthesis: Utilized Affinity Diagrams and Empathy Maps to distill interview data.
  3. 3. Prioritization: Applied the MoSCoW method (Must Have, Should Have, Could Have, Won't Have) to prioritize features.
  4. 4. User Scenario and Journey Mapping: Created scenarios and journey maps to illustrate user benefits.
  5. 5. Value Proposition: Defined how the app's features would benefit users.
  6. 6. Flow Charts and Wireframes: Designed user flow charts and hand-drawn wireframes, followed by user testing to refine ease of use and identify necessary improvements.

  • CONCLUSION:
  • • Fans of music want a better closer connection to the bands they love and the New music they want
  • • Currently, finding all that information is difficult because it isn’t in one place and it’s not always available
  • • I think that there is a need for an app like this.

  • FINAL THOUGHTS:
  • • To accurately build this app, there would be some very large logistical problems with how the music industry is structured.
  • • We learned to work efficiently with tight deadlines
  • • We discovered that users who listen to music regularly are very passionate about music.

• We learned the importance of the whole research process to bring the User’s needs to the app

Here you could add a nice little description about your project, talk a little about the client briefing and explain some of the design decisions you made while working on this piece. There’s no need to write too much copy, make it nice short and snappy.

Alternatively, you can of course use this block for your about page too, listing skills and links on the left, and using this part here for your bio. Just click in here to edit & style the text. Super simple.
